THE ORCHARD TOWN CENTER BLOSSOMING IN WESTMINSTER

Mayor McNally to lead ribbon-cutting ceremony as the center opens for business

Westminster, CO (April 3, 2008) – In a place where apple trees once flourished, a new lifestyle center has taken root. The Orchard Town Center, located at the intersection of I-25 and 144th, is opening for business on Thursday, April 3 when Mayor Nancy McNally, city officials and developers cut the ribbon signifying a new era of shopping for Westminster and its surrounding communities.

“The day we have all been waiting for is finally here,” said Nancy Rezac, general manager, The Orchard Town Center. “It is with great pride that we open The Orchard Town Center with the many officials who were instrumental in the development of the Center. This is a celebration for the city, the architects and all of the workers who spent so much time creating this beautiful center.”

The Grand Opening festivities will be kicked off on April 2 with a special event at AMC Orchard 12 and will continue through the weekend with concerts, events and community performances.  Adding to the excitement of the opening will be the Prints of Pride imprinting days taking place on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. The Prints of Pride campaign is a fundraiser that invites children and pet dogs to leave a lasting impression at the new lifestyle center by imprinting clay tiles with their hand and paw prints. The colorful 6x6-inch tiles will be signed, glazed and installed at The Orchard Town Center for posterity. The tax-deductible donation for each tile is $60 and will benefit the Westminster Legacy Foundation and the Rotary Club of Westminster, 710 Club. Those interested in purchasing tiles for a child or dog can register online at www.theorchardtowncenter.com.

“Through the Prints of Pride program and the development of this beautiful center, Forest City has shown its
dedication to our community,” said Mayor McNally. “The Orchard Town Center is truly a welcoming place
that reflects the values of our community and pays tribute to our history. Visitors will enjoy coming to the Center for years to come.”

The Orchard Town Center, a 983,000-square-foot-development designed in classic prairie craftsmanship, offers a pedestrian-friendly, outdoor lifestyle village with exceptional options in shopping, dining and entertainment.  AMC Orchard 12, Macy’s, JC Penney and SuperTarget anchor the center. Retailers will begin opening their doors on April 3 with more retailers and stores opening throughout the spring and summer.

Located at the northwest corner of Interstate 25 and 144th Avenue, The Orchard Town Center features a Town Center with a sunken plaza, a giant outdoor fireplace and a children’s play area that features artistically-crafted apples, apple slices and roots made of soft, resilient rubber surfacing that beckon children to climb through, under and over. Fountains and a permanent holiday tree in the Town Center create a “Family Room” environment for all ages. The center also features the commissioned work of local artists including an 8x12-foot ceramic mural, a rock seating area and stained glass art.
